The Rollin' Oldies Giant Jukebox
Here Are some progress pictures of the Rollin' Oldies Giant Jukebox project.
It is very important to note that this project would neither be possible or have progressed this far with out the help and contributions of many local businesses .
I think it's imperative that we take the time and provide the space here to recognize and thank the businesses that have contributed to this project. They are as follows.
Wendy's
Airtight Construction
Glotfelty Tire
B&S Bonding
McClinton Chevrolet
Metaltech Steel
Riverview Industrial Supply
Steve's Custom Vans & Truck and Trailer Accessories
Tri State Sheet Metal
The above businesses have contributed money, time and materials of a value in excess of $4,000.00 to this point in time.
The following pictures are of the construction process of the trailer base for the Giant Jukebox

Above Steve and Larry try their hand at spraying on the primer coat

Until the Jukebox itself is done there isn't much to be done with the trailer. So now we have moved on to building the jukebox.

Above and below Steve and Larry are working on ply wood for the box.

Above are two pictures of the basic structure of the jukebox

Above Is a partial layout of the trailer side panels featuring the sponsors of the Rollin' Oldies Giant Jukebox
Glotfelty Tire has come to our rescue once again by donating over $400.00 worth of Wheels and tires to make the Giant Jukebox trailer base look like it should since it is owned and operated by a car club
Bling is Everything !!!
Check out these cool wheels...
We were able to get all the interior structure of the jukebox done today and we were able to get it fitted and mounted on the removable pivot pins and tilt it back to the transport position. We also got the underside coated with latex porch and deck paint to prevent moisture absorbance when in transport. Below are pictures of today's work.
Weekend Report
I worked solo this weekend but I did manages to accomplish a lot.
The structure and wood work is now complete.
I was also able to design fabricate and install a screw drive actuator that will raise and lower the jukebox.
Above is the front view of the jukebox. The square holes in front are so the removable speakers can be used in the jukebox. This front panel will be covered with special black speaker cover cloth and covered with bright expanded metal grille work. There will be diffused vertical light panels on either side.
Above is the recessed area the touch screen flat panel will be in.
Above is the rear view of the unit. The two outside compartments are for the removable speakers and the center section is for the computer and electronic equipment. The black part at the rear bottom is the attachment point and lever for the lift mechanism.
Above is a view showing the front and side.
The next five pictures are of the painted jukebox structure.
The gray inside the top will be covered with bright embossed metal and the fake record selector/player
The gray interior in the rear is just a neutral background color for the equipment area.
Above are three pictures of the painted structure
from the front and side
Above are two pictures from the rear
Above are two pictures that show the flames
and the start of the bright metal trim.
Below are four pictures taken on 05/25/11 with Steve, Kenny and Doug helping out with trim and installing signs on the bottom that show when the rig is being towed on the road.
Below are two pictures of the work completed on Saturday, May 28th
Above is a picture of the first test of the lighting. The side lights are actually pink and blue but the camera didn't capture it that way.
Above is a picture taken after installing the electronics. The main computer is not shown here because I am using my laptop for testing purposes. The speakers are installed so they can be removed and spread out to either side of the jukebox or they can be left inside and play. You gotta hear this thing to believe it. This thing sounds amazing, even in my shop...
Below is a picture of the really nice aluminum box generously donated by Steve's Vans, Trucks and Trailer Sales of Marietta, Ohio. The computer and touch screen monitor will be transported in padded sections of this box along with extra cords and other things.
Below are two pictures of the mock record rack that sits inside the window of the jukebox
